A group of conservative political operatives have formed a committee to draft Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke to run for US Senate against incumbent Senator Tammy Baldwin next year.“It’s fair to say that we’re all big fans,” said Nate Pendley, of North Carolina, a member of the campaign’s advisory committee. “When you look at the state of the Senate right now the first thing you do is look to the future and you look to states like Wisconsin which has a Republican governor. You have two people left, Democrats elected statewide, and one of them’s been in since 1974 (Secretary [...]

A newly organized political action committee is opening eyes among the nation’s top conservative fundraisers and political organizers. Formally registered with the FEC in late January, the PAC is the Official Draft Campaign dedicated to convincing Milwaukee’s conservative black Sheriff David A. Clarke, Jr. to run for the United States Senate against liberal Democrat incumbent Tammy Baldwin, of Madison. Though most PACs take months to get noticed and even longer to become effective, in its first two weeks of operation the aggressively-run Clarke Draft Campaign has raised over $175,000.00 and secured 25,000 pledge signatures — voters and donors promising to [...]

"Representing a lot of the positive, conservative fighter, bare knuckles kind of politician who won't take anything from the left," said Nate Pendley, a North Carolina attorney who has worked in conservative politics for years. Pendley said the Super PAC already has thousands of signatures. He approached Clarke about the U.S. Senate bid a few months ago. "The only contact has been when I spoke with him very briefly in October, and he smiled slyly and turned away, and we haven't discussed it with him since," [...]

With his growing national profile, it's almost a guarantee that Sheriff David Clarke – last seen on Facebook threatening, via meme, to kill a man who apparently shook his head at him on an airplane – will run for higher office at some point. And now a step in that direction has been found on Reddit: a "Sheriff Clarke for Senate" website, founded by some surprising names. You know what, not really that surprising. According to a WISN 12 report, the official "Sheriff Clarke for Senate" draft campaign was created last Tuesday, started by a nine-person advisory board, including Trump campaign fundraisers and surrogates [...]

A North Carolina lawyer, Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman and a former Louisiana state lawmaker are among those behind an effort to draft Clarke to run for the U.S. Senate in 2018. Attorney Jack Daly is listed as the committee's national chairman. His bio describes him as a fundraiser for Trump and the RNC, Army vet, and a former congressional aide. He wrote in an email the Sheriff David Clarke for U.S. Senate (Official Draft Committee) is both a draft committee and a super PAC. The site includes an appeal to Clarke that duty summons him to "save the [...]
